Functional Footer

Use the functional footer to add information and links at the bottom of your pages.

The footer can use any of the column options listed on the Grids page, and uses default York template text styles that should not be modified.

Items that you can include in a functional footer include:

  • link lists
    • link lists should ideally contain no more than 5-7 links
    • if possible, group related links together and provide a heading for the list using an h2 heading tag
    • examples of uses for link lists: listing main sections of your site, quick links
  • contact information
  • office hours
  • location information and/or embedded Google map

How to implement

To add the HTML code for your functional footer, go to the Widgets page, and drag a Text widget to the Page Footer widget area. Insert the HTML code in the Text widget.

The following is an example of HTML code for a 4-column footer:

<div class="mega-footer">
<div class="section group">

<div class="col span_1_of_4 mobile_full">
<h2>Contact Us</h2>
<li>Email: <a href=""></a></li>
<li>Telephone: ###-###-####</li>
<li><a href="link.html">Staff Email and Phone Directory</a></li>

<div class="col span_1_of_4 mobile_full">
<h2>Hours of Operation</h2>
<p>Monday-Friday: 8:30am-4:30pm</p>

<div class="col span_1_of_4 mobile_full">
Your Office</br>
Office Address</br>
York University</br>
4700 Keele Street</br>
Toronto, ON</br>
M3J 1P3

<div class="col span_1_of_4 mobile_full">
<iframe title="Google Map of ... " src="" frameborder="0" style="border:0"></iframe>

</div><br style="clear: both;" />
